5 Ways To Instantly Improve The On Page SEO For Your Adult Blog
1. Add the title tag to all of your links.
You should use the title tag in all of your links on your site, but this practice is especially important for links that lead to other pages on your site. If you are linking to a post or page that has “big boob” pictures, make your link look something like this:
<a href=”linkurlhere” title=”big boob pictures”>anchortext</a>
2. Add the alt tag to each and every image on your site.
Since the search engine spiders cannot look at an image and know what it is about, the spiders look for image alt tags to find information about the image. If you post an image of a girl with big boobs, you should make the alt tag look something like this:
<img src=”imageurl” alt=”big boobs”>
3. Create and submit a sitemap.
Think of a sitemap as a directory or table of contents for the search engine spiders. It helps the spider navigate your webpage in a much more organized way. When a spider can crawl your site more efficiently, your site will be in better graces with the spider.
If you maintain your blog using Wordpress, there is a plugin that will generate a sitemap for you. You can get this plugin right here.
If you do not use Wordpress, google has written an article that will teach you how to set up a sitemap. You can read this article right here
Once you have created your sitemap, you should place a link to it in your footer, and then submit it to google. The best way to do this is to set up a free account at the Google Webmaster Tools.
If there are any requests for a tutorial on setting up google webmaster tools and submitting your sitemap using the webmaster tools, leave me a comment or send me a message. It is pretty simple to do, but if enough people need help, I would be more than happy to write a tutorial.
4. Do not overload your meta tags with keywords
First of all, there has been a lot of discussion about whether or not the meta tags even come into play at all anymore, but since they do not take long to set up, I continue to use them just in case.
A common mistake that I see new webmasters making is overloading their meta tags with keywords. At the most, you should only use 7 to 10 very relevant keywords in your meta tags.
For Wordpress users, I highly recommend that you download the All-In-One SEO plugin. It makes keeping your site optimized for the search engines almost automatic.
5. Link to other posts on your blog frequently
Here is what Darren Rowse from Problogger says about linking to other posts on your blog:
“One of the key issues with SEO is your internal linking structure. The more you link to a certain page on your blog, the more important it is to your overall content. Search engines treat your internal links as an indication of how well structured your site is.”
Again, Wordpress users are in luck. There are plenty of great plugins out there that make this task much easier. Problogger recommends using SEO Smart Links, and I would have to agree.
